[Announcement] Application Procedures for the Direct Ph.D. Program for the 2025 Academic Year
The application for direct admission to the Ph.D. program for the 2025 academic year is now open. Interested applicants should refer to the following regulations and submit the required documents to the office by Wednesday, April 9, 2025.
- All rules follow the NCKU Operating Rules for Direct Admission to Ph.D. Programs.
- Application Eligibility
Applicants must have completed at least one year in a master’s program and meet one of the following criteria:
- Maintain an average academic grade of 80 or higher and demonstrate research potential.
- Rank within the top two-thirds of their class and demonstrate research potential.
Note: First-year master’s students may submit their transcripts later. However, applicants not meeting the above academic requirements will not be accepted.
- Documentary Review (50%)
Applicants must submit the following documents:
- Two letters of recommendation from associate professors (including jointly appointed professors) of the applicant’s current or related department, institute, school, or degree program.
- Ph.D. Research Proposal
- Personal Information / CV / Resume
- Transcripts for Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees
- Supporting Documents such as published papers, patents, award-winning works, language proficiency certificates, or any other materials that demonstrate the applicant’s qualifications and abilities.
- Interview (50%)
The interview will be conducted in English and is scheduled for May 4th, 2025.
